After leaving Jasper we took the Yellowhead highway to our next stop at Blue River where we took a boat trip with Riversafari to view the wildlife in the world’s only inland temperate rain forest. Crossing the North Thompson River on the way to the boat. |
A jetboat took us up mud Creek to Mud Lake (sounds great doesn’t it?) and we soon spotted some black bears on the water’s edge. |
And a grizzly: |
There were two black bears and a grizzly, I managed to get two of them in one picture. |
On the way back in the boat we saw an osprey on it's nest on top of a tree. |
We went out in a jeep to see if we could see bears up a mountain side but all we got was a brief glimpse of a large black bear’s bum as it crossed the road in front of us. The views were good though. |
