We left Melbourne this morning and headed southeast to Toora. Before leaving, we spent an afternoon driving to the top of Mount Dandenong, which at 650mtrs provides an excellent view over the city. The hot northerly winds created a bit of a haze but you can just make out the skyscrapers on the horizon in the photo below. View of Melbourne from Mount Dandenong |

The following day, we caught up with some maintenance on the van and drove out to St Kilda, which is a popular seaside resort close to the city of Melbourne. It was another very hot day and the beach was quite busy. St Kilda Beach |

The St Kilda Marina had a multi-story boat park - of course! | ||
We had an invite to dinner in the evening with a fellow software engineer, Bruce and his wife Cynthia. They really looked after us well - a most enjoyable evening. What was that sauce on the chicken Cynthia? As a result of our meeting, we now have a new passenger to accompany us around Oz. We will introduce her later. |
