After an overnight stay at Heathrow we flew out to Toronto where we spent 3 days.
We visited Niagra Falls which were amazing.
We took the boat trip which seemed to take us under the falls; lucky we had the protective clothing on!
A view of the falls from the boat:
We also visited a tunnel that runs behind the falls; this allowed us to get close to the action:
'The Brink'
This is the view from our hotel room overlooking city hall and the law courts.
The following day we visited some of the sights and in the evening we had booked a meal in the revolving restaurant at the top of the CN Tower.
The following day we had to get up early to catch a flight to Vancouver but we got up a bit earlier than planned as the fire alarms went off in the hotel at 1:30 in the morning!
The flight from Toronto to Vancouver took just under 5 hours and we got to the hotel around 11 in the morning after changing our clocks once again. We went for a walk and managed to stay awake until the early evening but then the jet lag and early morning fire drill caught up with us.
The following morning we caught a Greyhound bus out to Abbotsford where we picked up our motor home for the next stage of our holiday. We drove out to a Provincial Park near Harrison Hot Springs but the place was full – it was the start of the weekend and the place was an easy commute from the city so we had to drive back into the local town and camp in a commercial site for the night.
That brings us to today. We had a long but very scenic drive following the Fraser River to Salmon Arm where we are spending the night. Our home until the end of the month.
I forgot to mention the weather – It was sunny in Toronto but cool in the wind but here in Salmon Arm it’s 9:30 at night and still 26deg.
